🚨 Severe Weather Alert 🚨

The City of Paterson Office of Emergency Management would like to inform residents of possible flash flooding starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing into Wednesday morning. Thunderstorms may begin mainly after 2PM

Hazards:
Rainfall Rates:  As high as 1 to 2 inches per hour.
Storm Total Rainfall: Locally, 3" to 5" of rain is possible; much of this rain could fall in a 3 - 6 hour period this afternoon into tonight.

Flash Flood Impacts:

  • Poor drainage areas and along the Passaic River
  • Causing major disruption to transportation
  • Stay off bridges over fast-moving water.
  • Flooding basements
  • Do not drive around barricades or closed off streets.
  • In case of emergency please call 911 immediately. 

Listed below are areas of possible flash flooding:

  • Bridge Street
  • River Street between West Broadway & Lafayette
  • 5th Ave between Waite and 6th Ave
  • Getty Ave
  • Beckwith Ave 
  • Presidential Blvd between Jefferson & Stout Street
