With summer approaching it brings with it weather emergencies such as Severe
Storms, Heat Waves, and Hurricanes, which can lead to power outages.
Hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. This year the National Weather
Service is predicting a very active hurricane season. We urge all residents to start thinking
about Personal Disaster Preparedness Plans.
Please assemble an emergency supply kit or GO BAG with items such as a flashlight, water,
whistle, and non perishable food items. In the event you have to evacuate your property, please
make sure you have your medications and important personal documents with you. You should also
have a family communications plan for family contact.
For a complete list of items you should have in your GO BAG and other disaster preparedness
information please visit www.ready.gov or www.fema.gov
Remember make a kit make a plan and stay informed!
