The City of Paterson Office of Emergency Management would like to inform residents of an upcoming weather event expected to bring heavy rain and strong to damaging wind gusts.
- Wind Gusts: Up to 60 mph
- Sustained Winds: 25 to 35 mph
The Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor conditions and provide weather briefings every 12 hours.
Rainfall Forecast
- Storm Total Rainfall: 1 to 3 inches likely; isolated amounts up to 3 inches possible
- Timing: Most rainfall expected during a 12-hour period, from Sunday evening through Monday noon
- Rainfall Rates: Generally, ¼ to ½ inch per hour for 8–12 hours (late Sunday night into Monday morning)
Safety Tips
- Do not walk, swim, or drive through flood waters.
- Just six inches of moving water can knock you down.
- One foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away.
- Stay off bridges over fast-moving water.
- Follow all traffic warnings and detours.
- Do not drive around barricades or into closed streets.
- In case of emergency, call 911 immediately.
- Please report all power outages on the PSEG outage map.
