🚨 Extreme Heat Advisory 🚨

Paterson residents please be advised that temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees Sunday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 25. 

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, try to stay indoors with air conditioning or fans, avoid doing strenuous outdoor activities, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. If you must go outside, wear light clothing and try to stay in shaded areas.

If you or anyone that you know does not have a cool place to be, the Paterson Free Public Libraries will be allowing residents to cool off inside of the facilities located below during normal business hours, 9 AM–5 PM. Water will also be available.

  • Northside Public Library - 60 Temple Street

Always remember NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS IN A HOT CAR even for a few minutes. This can be very dangerous and even fatal. If you begin to feel ill or show signs of heat exhaustion call 911 immediately.  Be sure to check on your family and neighbors, especially the elderly and physically disabled.
