CODE BLUE ALERT
According to the National Weather Service, the forecasted temperatures are expected to reach 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, therefore by authority of the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners, a Code Blue Alert is being issued for Passaic County beginning at 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 and ending at 9:00 AM on Friday, January 12, 2024.
According to the National Weather Service,
(1) the temperature will reach 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower; or
(2) a windfall temperature of zero degrees Fahrenheit or less for a period of two (2) hours or more.
Anyone in need of a Warming Center should go directly to one of the Warming Centers listed below. If you are aware of any unsheltered homeless who need assistance, call the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (973) 389-5951 and advise the dispatcher that there is an at-risk individual in need of a welfare check under the Passaic County Code Blue Alert Plan. Anyone in need of more information, please call 211 or text your zip code to 898-211, and a call specialist will be happy to assist.

- Paterson: 60 Temple, Paterson, NJ 07501: 973-321-1574 (Open 9 PM - 8 AM)
*The Christopher Hope Center at 60 Temple Street will be a Code Blue Shelter Only. The Riverside Vets Recreation Center (161 5th Ave Paterson, NJ) will be open for 24 hours starting at 3 PM, Thursday, January 11, 2024, for anyone seeking assistance or shelter from floods. Staff from the American Red Cross and Paterson Office of Emergency Management will be onsite.*
