HOPE VI PROJECT

The City of Paterson was awarded an $18.4 million grant for ongoing construction.  The development includes aparatments that will be rented through the Paterson Housing Authority, private rentals, senior citizen units and some homes that will be sold at market rates as well as to low-income families.  Paterson's $18.4 million was part of a $153 million awarded to eight public housing agencies across the country through HUD's HOPE VI Revitalization Program, which is designed to transform severely distressed public housing developments into mixed income communities.  The Paterson Housing Authority will also construct an Early Childhood Center on the revitalized site.
