The Department of Community Development plays a major role in the revitalization of neighborhoods and physical structures within the city. The Department administers the Housing and Urban Development funding that the city receives from the federal government each year. This funding is utilized to provide assistance to low and moderate income families.
Some of the activities include:
- Continuing efforts to "Retain & Attract" businesses to the City;
- Strengthen the City's Economic Base; and
- Section 8 rental assistance.
